It’s a sampler. I cast on 30 stitches and worked garter stitch on the first and last 3 of each row. The 24 stitches in the middle were where I worked the patterns. I drew from stitch dictionaries, my own head, other people at Madrona, and the pages of my stitch-a-day calendar from my desk at work.
Yarn is a camel-merino blend, handspun on a Turkish drop spindle, and knitted directly from the energized single (normally, one would ply before knitting). This results in a slightly biased fabric, but blocking it yesterday gave the stitches a little more even-ness without destroying the character of the scarf.
