John and I woke up this morning at about 5:30 because we heard such a clatter. Festive jingling in the living room. Could it be…?
Yes! It was! Evil Santa-cat had come to town!
Alladin has a toy with a little jingle bell on the end of it. It’s handmade– crocheted about 50 years ago. We found it in my grandmother’s house (which says something, because I’m pretty sure she hasn’t had a cat since my dad was a boy). It used to have eyes. It had eyes before Alladin got to it.
Anyway, that’s how we woke up this Christmas morning. All the Las Vegas snow is gone from the valley (still plenty on the surrounding mountains), and there were jingling bells before dawn.
