To say we were all kind of messed up and tired would be an understatement. We&#8217;ve been here a week and finally had our first couple of nights of &#8220;normal&#8221; (ish&#8211; more on that later) sleep this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, we ended up getting into our AirBnB around 3 PM. Needed to wait around a short bit while the cleaners finished up, but we all just kind of crashed on the couch while waiting. I think we went to bed around 5 PM that night. Honestly, it&#8217;s a bit of a blur. Our AirBnB is enormous&#8211; has 5 queen sized beds, all of them with the softness of plywood. We are going to see what we can do about getting a thicker foam mattress topper today&#8211; I bought one on our first night here, but it&#8217;s like sleeping on 1&#8243; of thin foam on top of plywood&#8211; not much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We lost several days to jet lag and are finally starting to get our feet under us. We&#8217;re in no rush, really, so we haven&#8217;t been pushing ourselves to adapt to the new time zone very quickly. To be honest, I kind of dread going to bed because the bed is so hard and difficult to sleep. I&#8217;m getting sleep deprived, cranky, and my pain levels are no lower than a 4 pretty much all the time right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before this trip, everyone said &#8220;post lots of pictures,&#8221; so here&#8217;s my photo dump from week 1 of our journey! We&#8217;ve had a spa and massage day, hit up a bookstore, and eaten quite a lot of delicious food from various cuisines. I visited a &#8220;knit shop,&#8221; which was pretty dirty (pollution is a big problem in Bangkok) and discovered that one of the bags of yarn\/thread had bugs in it (eeeewww), and most was acrylic or polyester, even the crochet thread. They did carry a bunch of tatting thread, so I bought some which is currently in quarantine in the freezer here because I want to avoid a possible contamination. Also on that same excursion (I went alone), I found some absolutely gorgeous Japanese silk fabric and bought a yard to make a shirt out of. I&#8217;ll post results eventually&#8211; the fabric is also in the freezer for the moment. I&#8217;m hoping to hit a less dirty yarn shop here next week, as well as a gaming store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current travel crafting project is a crocheted parasol called the Hypnosis Parasol, which I picked back up after hibernating it for 2+ years, to bring with me on this trip. I did have to frog back a few rounds due to errors that I was finally able to find and fix. It&#8217;s coming along, albeit maybe a little slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone said &#8220;take lots of pictures,&#8221; so you get a photo dump of pics from my camera in gallery form.
