Yarn Diet 2010: How did I do?

In my yarn diet for 2010, I bought some gift yarn, some fiber in February, and I received a few skeins of gift yarn. I still had several skeins of sock club yarn coming in. I bought one skein of yarn-for-gifts that wasn’t pre-announced, but that’s cause I didn’t want to ruin a Christmas surprise.

I did fairly well in my yarn diet this year. I acquired 8,966 yards of yarn, and about 32 ounces of fiber to spin (I think). I knitted up about 10,094 yards, for a net loss of 1128 yards. Not bad, especially considering the yarn acquired has been of good quality (and I know I’m forgetting some projects that didn’t get fully logged in ravelry).

Compared to 2009, my input and output are very, very low. But in 2009, my primary occupation was knitting and the comic book. In 2010, my main occupation was working my day job (and how fitting that I wrote “my pain occupation” there).

  1. Stephanie… I love your numbers… I need to start learning the package numbers… I am such a dud when it comes to that. All I do is small things like hats because I am a chicken to learn anything else… although I did learn how to crochet a heart today – I am so elementry…. I love your yarn diet blog….
