3 weeks without a yarn post?

Can it be?

Look, it’s not that I’ve been spending so much time writing. It’s that I’ve been knitting on a long-term project, knitting something for a secret swap, and spinning some yarn.

Here’s the yarn I’ve been spinning.

2 novels, no waiting….

Doing NaNoWriMo and trying to write the zombie romantic comedy has been a slow-going slog. Probably because this story should really be a screenplay. But also because every time I think of writing it, i get sidetracked by this other novel that I’ve been working on for about 2 years.

So, here’s an excerpt from the zombie book:

In the backseat of the minivan, Elsie opened a novel from her backpack and started reading….

And then I move into 3300 words of the other novel, the one I really wanted to be writing this month, as it turns out. That novel is just about halfway done, weighing in at 37,735 words, and is now fully outlined, thanks to my brain putting all the pieces into place this month.

In other words: I think i will be able to finish the other novel, and possibly this month, as long as I throw my hands into the air and work on something that, technically, breaks the rules.

I’m all for breaking the rules. Especially when it comes to writing.
