My weekend, in a nutshell:
Go to Boulder Creek.
Read a book.
Go to Boulder Creek.
The Boulder Creek Art and Wine festival was going on this weekend, but that’s not what drew me up there. I went for some pet-sitting, and then in the evenings for pet-sitting and to have dinner with a couple of very generous friends who have invited us to dinner any time feel like coming up, given the fact that we don’t have much in the way of a kitchen right now.
In fact, I deliberately timed my jaunts up to BC to not be at the same time as the festival, which was noon until 6 PM Saturday through Monday. Why? Because Boulder Creek can’t have a big art and wine festival on a side street. Oh, no. It must be in the middle of Highway 9, routing all traffic around it via detours. It normally takes me about 8 minutes to get from my house to Boulder Creek. On Memorial Day weekend, I could count on it being up to 45 minutes. Not fun for me, and since I was driving John’s car this weekend, not really viable.
John and I also looked at bicycles this weekend, with an eye towards our non-motorized transportation needs once we’ve moved into the RV. We need new bike helmets as well– mine is about 15 years old, and should be replaced.
That, by the way will be very soon. We will still have the house until it sells, but this time next week, I’ll be writing to you from a local campground.
