Short update.

Sister brought me a book to read– Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I had tried to read Drums of Autumn, but found it tedious– this is apparently because it is the third in the series. Ahem.
Anyway, if you’ve never had the experience of being in the middle of writing a novel when you read one and you think crap…. everyone’s going to think mine is derivative then I envy you greatly. This has happened with three of my novels so far, and in only one case was the novel actually, deliberately derivative in nature.
So, anyway. I’m trying not to suck.
