Negotiating a workout
15-Apr-06
John and I got up this morning a bit late (8), but in time that I was confident I could get to Weight Watchers by 9 (last meeting of the week– I needed to go!) We argued a bit about what to do with our morning. Since it was raining, I wasn’t going on the roof, and not wild about a bike ride. Meanwhile, I mentioned yoga after WW, and John wasn’t wild about that idea either.
I got up and dressed for a hike in the rainy woods, figuring we could decide over breakfast what to do.
He got up, showered, and dressed for…. I don’t know what… in jeans and a shirt. He comes out of the bedroom and says that he’ll try yoga, “just for you.”
I thought it was sweet– I had dressed for hiking, for him, and he was willing to do yoga for me.
So we went to Weight Watchers– I’ve lost a total of 11 lbs. and change (yay!). Then to Jamba Juice for a breakfast we could drink and not have to heavily digest during yoga. Then to the yoga studio. We signed up as first-timers, changed, went in, and arranged ourselves and our mats and towels.
I should probably mention here that I do bikram yoga, which is the yoga done in a heated room.
It was, as always, an excellent workout. I got dizzy during the camel pose, as I ALWAYS do. John did excellent; he’s done yoga before, but not in a hot room. We just got home, and I feel great!
