I’m so excited about this!
This is an archive of my shorter book reviews and notes, which historically have been posted over at the 50 Book Challenge on LiveJournal, but which I’m starting to move over here. I’m posting them with altered date-stamps, but they might show up in my LiveJournal cross-post anyway. Bear with me, please.
Note: Many of these books also have full reviews available in the book review podcast (RSS).

In dream #1, I was pregnant, and not unhappy about it– I was in my 2nd trimester and talking with friends about stuff.
In dream #2, I was in a poly relationship (I was also an alien of some kind, or a mutant), and one of my spouses and I were about to head off into the stars. My 2 other spouses were staying home. To make things worse, the spouse I was heading off with was new– we barely knew each other, and were trying to build a home without any idea of who we were. “Building a home” was literal– in this type of group marriage in this culture, the spouses bring small wooden modular pieces that represent the house, and put them together. I was upset one morning because my piece didn’t fit with his, and I couldn’t remember where I’d left the piece that did, and he was angry because I obviously didn’t care as much for him as I did for the 2 wives I had when he’d joined us (there was a sense of it being an arranged marriage of some kind in his case). Our other 2 spouses tended to hide away from company. One of them loved to have open roofs– she was an architect who deliberately designed houses with open skies. A bunch of our non-alien friends came over to wish us well on our journey.
In other words: lots of dreams about building home/family nesting.
I dedicated my book to my dad.
And I’m not at all sorry. I called him up and read it to him over the phone. We had a very nice moment.

I am trying out a couple of ways to post videos, so if you get the annoying “Click to play ActiveX” in Internet Explorer on this video, or if anything else breaks, let me know.
