I got nervous yesterday because Sam the Eagle wasn’t chasing after a bunch of falling eggs the way I thought would happen. Turns out, the eggs were staying in his nest very neatly. I saw them this morning after he had moved them around a bit. They look like little white pearls. The picture below shows them– it’s hard to get a good snap because as of this morning, they keep falling out of the nest, and the light bothers Sam the Eagle and interrupts him from picking them up and putting them back into the nest. Anyway, it looks like there’s uneven light reflecting from the bubbles, making some white and some not white. In fact, that’s not a light trick– some of them are white and some are not. The white ones are the ones with eggs in them.
I have not yet counted the eggs, though I probably should do so before they hatch. Knowing how many are there will help me know how successful the spawn is, comparing the number of eggs to the number of fry.

Edit: I estimate about 350 eggs.
