Hiking, fish, and stuff

John and I planned to go on a backpacking trip this weekend. About 2 hours into it, my left hip and knee started to hurt and I called the trip off. We hiked back to the car and went home. I almost didn’t post tonight so nobody would know we were back….
I did surgery on Zoot tonight. His fins have been rotting away, with an infection and possibly fungus. After five days of antibiotics and a fungicide dip, he wasn’t improving, so I cut the sick parts off.
The breeding tank is set up with 5 gallons of water. Next time there’s a rain, I’m putting Cookie Monster and Janice in there in hopes of a spawning. Certainly, Cookie Monster keeps acting like he’d like to play, and the girls do almost nothing but swim on that side of the tank, flirting with him all day.
We watched The Wedding Crashers tonight. It was good, funny, light-hearted. I enjoyed it.
