Weeeeeekend!
19-Dec-05
Friday: Had holiday party at work. Got home after about 3 hours of fighting traffic and malls. Ran D&D game, starting about an hour late. It went well.
Saturday: Made brunch for Johnny, which was fun and delicious. Had 2 parties. ‘ party in San Francisco, which was awesome, and the California Betta Society party in Castro Valley. When I got in the car at noon to drive to SF, it had started drizzling. When I got in the car at 10 PM to drive home, it was a torrential downpour. I almost got into a headon collision because I couldn’t see where the lane went when I turned left, and there was a concrete barrier so I couldn’t correct. I was not the only person to do this, either– the car in front of me made the same mistake. Fortunately, neither of us crashed.
Sunday: Had a meltdown in the afternoon while I was trying to make a beaded wristwatch. Just everything kind of got to me, and I cried for several minutes when the band just wasn’t coming together and John tried to help and ended up dropping all the beads everywhere. I ended up starting over for the third time, and acknowledging that I was probably crying because I hate my job. Finished the birthday and stocking stuffer shopping for my sis and John should mail those today. Made holiday cookies for people at work. Didn’t make enough for both departments, so I will make more tonight. It continued to pour rain all day yesterday, swelling the creek a huge amount! The forecast John heard was “about an inch of rain.” What we got was about an inch every 2 hours, and it rained without stopping from mid-day Saturday until sometime early this morning.
Monday: Came to work and went to dept. meeting. Handed out cookies. Resisted hitting new lead tech writer, since it’s not really her fault that I’m a jealous git.
