Thanksgiving Invite

Thanksgiving for many is an occassion for the “good china,” fancy placesettings with lots of forks, “traditional” coma-inducing foods that you would never eat at any other time of year, and… relatives.

This year, when Aunt Martha tries to get you to take a plate home, take her up on it! In fact, load up and relieve her of a whole casserole! Then bring it to my house the next day for a paper plates potluck party!

My annual post-Thanksgiving potluck is next Friday, November 25, starting at, oh, about 4 or thereabouts– give you enough time to brave the Black Friday crowds while still maintaining some approximation of sanity. Bring a leftover dish from your dinner the day before for a very informal party at my house in Ben Lomond! We’ll chow down, play some games, watch movies, chow down some more, and decorate a Christmas tree! If we end up with 15 stuffing dishes and no main course, we’ll order a pizza to compensate!

If you’re reading this and you want to come (and you’re local to this area), but have no idea where I live, email me or leave a comment here for details. This party is typically quite fun and a great way to start off your holiday season in a good mood!

PS: Obviously, it’s cool to bring a friend, your family members, etc., so long as they’re housebroken. I would not say my home is particularly safe for small children, though, as I have many stairs and no babygates whatsoever. So bring littles, but be prepared to watch them. I also have a cat, so if you are allergic, please take any meds in advance.

Hmm… 7 of you said Yes.

So, does that mean that you seven would definitely do JaNoWriMo if I set it up for this January?

Because I’m thinking of doing EXACTLY THAT.

The cards are on the table, guys. Would you sign up? Would you follow through and write, at least for the first week?

Think about it carefully– January is only 6 weeks away.

But just imagine the New Years Resolution: “I resolve to write a novel this year” and then you’d be DONE by February 1!
