Hmmm…. Not a rhetorical question

I wonder how many of my friends would participate if NaNoWriMo were held in January….?
This was a rough weekend for me.
Friday: We had an hour-long power outage in the evening. I knitted. John got frustrated because he needed to print something and it was already not cooperating before the power failed. He was really steamed. When he burned it to PDF and gave it to me to print from my Mac, everything worked fine.
Saturday: I was in the throes of the head cold, and I went out for a short bit to run a couple of errands and plug another 2,000 words into the novel. When I got home, I was so wiped out, I took a nap. Did not do much housework. Slept. Had soup for lunch, Chinese food for dinner. Lots of comfort food all day long. Alladin snuggled me mightily all night long, since John was away at a Jeep thing. John changed the password on our WiFi before we left, and I had trouble staying connected all weekend long.
Sunday: Feeling a bit better, I tackled much of the housework, cleaned the kitchen, etc. At noon, I took an hour long nap, waking up just in time for John’s return home. Finished cleaning house in time for the NaNoWriMo halfway party, which started at 2, though folks showed up at 2:15ish. At about 5, the two Wrimos who’d come departed, and Stacey, who is in from Az, arrived. We wrote a little bit, but mostly chatted about alternative medicine. I’m going to try a technique of behavior modification for stopping one of my bad habits this week– we’ll see if it works (it did last night, but not so much today).
Oh, yeah. After everyone left, I tried something in my word processor, and discovered that the word counter had just adjusted itself so I now had 2,000 fewer words than before! Ack! Plus the NaNo word counter says my word count is even lower, by another 1,000 words! I sent an email to the developer about it, but I thought I’d crossed the 25K barrier yesterday, and it turns out– I did not. ![]()
Yesterday, John and I were especially combative verbally, and he asked me after everyone had left if we were fighting, or just bantering. I had to say bantering, because I certainly wasn’t mad at him– we were just going back and forth, I guess.
This morning, I did a fish check. R.I.P. Dr. Teeth, the little oto I put in Zoot’s tank.
I need to clean Zoot’s tank today to remove any contaminants in it, and to check the chemical levels.
I am feeling a bit better today, though I’m more sneezy than this weekend. I’m at least not collapsing with exhaustion yet, which is a plus.
