Lunch

I went to lunch at the Slowest Thai Restaurant Evar today. Which was fine. It’s Friday, I can deal with slow service.

I brought my LAN textbook into the restaurant to read. It was very crowded in the restaurant. And loud. And the chapter I’m in… well, once you get past the seven-layer burrito networking schemas, it gets over my head pretty fucking fast. Not easy reading when I’m surrounded by a wall of babble.

So I got up, ran out to my car, grabbed my copy of Stiff and ran back in.

It’s a measure of…. something that I spent the rest of my lunch break (which bled over to about an hour and a half of time) reading a book about dead bodies and, yes, because Mary Roach is like that, laughing out loud.

I left a good tip, despite the slow service. I figure, if they gotta put up with a loner girl cackling while reading a book about dead bodies and eating the chicken satay, they should at least be compensated for the privilege.

It’s Friday!

I am physically present at work, but mentally I have already left the building.

I forgot ONE key thing in packing– my adapter plug for my laptop. Without it, I can’t plug it into a projector for my presentation on Sunday. Whoops. I’m such a dummy sometimes.

I still have some to-do’s to scratch off my list this morning, but I am SOOOOO unmotivated.

Zoot is sulking in a plastic cup on my desk.

I wove yesterday! I taught myself how to do card weaving (also called tablet weaving) and wove a practice strap yesterday out of some cotton yarn I had! Eeee!

PS: My mother thinks I’m a freak because I’m taking my fish to a sci fi con….
