Thank you.

I want to thank everyone who has responded to my poll, and encourage everyone else to respond as well.

Either the poll is self-selective, or a LOT of you are going through a big transition right now. That’s exciting, though not always in a good way.

For those for whom it’s not a positive change, I offer my hugs and remind you that sometimes things change in an unhappy way, but at least you can find some meaningful outcome out of it.

And thank you all for telling me something about what’s happening in your lives and what happened to you yesterday. Reading them is like…. I don’t know. In the LiveJournal format, you don’t typically get a one-liner statement of “what’s going on in your life” that’s really meaningful, yet today, I did. I got little capsules of your lives, like a diary washed up on a shore in tatters and pages, you know?

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know that I treasure those tiny droplets of your lives, distilled and focused and pure.

Oh, and FYI: Contrary to how I usually do polls in my own journal, I actually filled this one out, too, even though the answers can only be seen by me.

Hmph.

I didn’t get the contract. :(
My betta was lethargic and kind of sick yesterday. I separated him from the rest of the tank last night, after cleaning the tank. We’ll see if he’s still alive tonight when I get home.

I dreamed about the SCA last night, and have decided to go to the A&S Collegium on Oct. 15th (it’s arts & sciences– a bunch of workshops and classes relating to period culture and society, as opposed to period fighting, which is kind of the other arm of the SCA). It’s in Concord, which is a long-assed drive, but I think I’ll go anyway because it will be fun and instructive. Also, I’ll get to learn about tablet weaving, which I really want to do!

This weekend is SiliCon, and I’m going. I’m doing a panel on videoblogging on Sunday afternoon. I’m really looking forward to it– I need a sci fi con!

John found a water leak under the deck last night and is trying to fix it today, with not much luck.

John got cat care lined up for us this weekend. Yay! I need to clean the kitty litter Friday morning, so it’ll “hold” till Sunday night when I get back.

Work today is getting hectic.

Friends Poll: How is your life right now?

I hope everyone who reads my journal will comment today. Because I would like to know:

1) If you are on a cusp of change in your life. Maybe you don’t know where it’s going, maybe you do, maybe you’re not going anywhere. I’m getting a sense from my Friends page that a lot of my friends are in various stages of transition right now, some really positive, some negative, some neutral in the “it hurts but it’s better for everyone” way.

and

2) Yesterday was kind of a suck-and-blow day for me, which is expected. But I noticed a lot of my friends had either really great or really sucky days, too. What was it for you?

The poll results are hidden, so only I will know how you voted. Also, if you want to elaborate in comments, I’m setting all comments to screened– if you don’t explicitly say it’s okay to do so, I won’t unscreen your remarks.

Either it’s a general trend on my friends page, or just that people post more when they’re going through change or having big stuff happen. In any case, I want to check in and see how you all are doing, and this seemed like a nicely focused way of doing that.
