Four days of non-stop media coverage is enough. You all have permission to bug out and turn off the TV and stop hitting the news websites.
Seriously. Nobody is so stupid as to think that those not directly affected are going to forget. Nobody is going to blame you for closing your eyes for a while. Nobody is going to call you names.
Take a deep breath and feel confident that you can turn off the TV and let go, at least for a few hours.
On a related note, I am throwing a barbecue/vloggercue this Monday afternoon. It’s potluckish. There will be people with videocameras who will likely record and post on the Internet about it, so be warned. But there will also be food and fun and fun. It’s at my house in Ben Lomond– comment here or email me if you live in the area and want the address/directions.
And on that note, I’m going to work.
