I finished the video tribute to my cat.
Clicky here (QuickTime MPEG-4 format, 23 MB, 8+ minutes long).
I wanted to say something on the video, but I couldn’t quite figure out what to say or how to say it, so I just…. didn’t.

A little bit different entry today– it’s not from The Book but is instead a vlog entry about how a couple of my friends met.
This entry is important not just because I think it’s a sweet (if geeky) story, but because this was my first time splicing in a second video with the audio from another clip playing in the background and then get the audio/video to sync back up again when it returns to the first clip. My execution is a little rough, but considering it’s my first time getting that to work…. Well, you’ll see what I’m talking about if you watch the movie….
My arms and legs are sore. I spent yesterday painting the closet under the stairs, putting together shelves and cabinets, putting the cabinets into the closet, and shelving and organizing ALL of the games and gaming stuff. They are now in a happy home under the stairs in the den, and they are all easily accessible without having to trip over anything.
Then today I hung things on the walls and put away the glasses and liquor cabinet items. I moved a bookcase and am repairing the glass display case so it can go upstairs (it was the antique damaged in the move). I’m slowly turning the den into a place where one wouldn’t mind sitting and playing a few card games, eating a bit of food, and having a few drinks.
I also washed cat poop off of the floor and installed a litter box in the downstairs bathroom. Eww. Alladin needs to learn that the den isn’t a potty!
I put the dartboard up and installed new batteries, so it works now. I need to check its height, though– it might not be regulation.
John and I hung all the “nice” pictures (the professionally-framed stuff) on the walls, including the big Stonehenge which went in the den after all (ha ha!) The doorharp is on the front door.
My musical instruments and books/sheet music need a home– I’m thinking a very small bookcase next to the piano with shelves or hangers on the wall above the piano for the dulcimers.
Anyway, it’s almost 5 now, which means the wood putty is probably dry, and I can finish repairing the display case and put it where it needs to go. Yay.
My goal by Wednesday morning: the house will look like a home and not like a clutter junk heap.
