Anyone from Santa Cruz want to go to the Harry Potter release party on Friday night (10 PM to midnight)?
I need to barter today (it’s for the vlog book thingie).
I am offering 3 ounces of dark green 2-ply handspun wool yarn (about 120 yards, I think? about 8 wpi width) in trade for…. something…. Something cool, perhaps. I won’t put a dollar value on this yarn, and I can’t post a picture until this evening. Some of it is a little overspun, but it has charm and is knittable (I wouldn’t use it for socks, though)!
Stuff I need or could use:
More fiber (duh)
Something homemade from your own arts and craft repertoire
A professionally-done, copyright-unencumbered logo/graphic design that I can use for my business.
Um…. surprise me? Seriously– some of you can probably think of things I could use better than I can!
Bookmark this post– I’ll put pictures up when I get home.

Now that I’m home, I can post more.
It’s the first yarn off of my wheel, 9 wpi (wraps per inch), 3 3/4 ounces, 2-ply, 100% wool. It’s not that it’s overspun in places, but that it’s unever throughout, and if I recall correctly, that wasn’t entirely an accident. In any case, this is not yarn you want to use for socks or gloves, but it’d make an excellent hat or bag or… heck, whatever you want to use it for! It’s a decent-sized hank, anyway– and it looks like I didn’t measure the yardage. My 3-ply yarn, also 3 ounces and about the same sized hank, is 200 yards, but it’s a little finer (11 wpi), so my guess would be this will be approximately 200 yards of yarn, give or take.
As far as color in the pictures, it’s closest to the first picture (shown above). It’s a dark, rich forest green.
