Fleece wash

I am washing some fleece today. Which means the upstairs will be especially stinky. In the process of getting the box down from the closet shelf, I got some dirt or dust in my eye and it’s irritating the hell out of me right now. I tried flushing with saline, but no go– it’s under the eyelid. With luck, it won’t scratch anything I need.

I touched up the paint in the living room and kitchen. There were a couple of spots that had either been dinged or hadn’t been fully painted before, so I gave them a quick once-over so they would look nice. In the living room, that wall is so dark, any dings show the underlying white primer, and it’s really obvious.

No further news on Allegro yet. Alladin is being hyper and playing with all his toys.

The vet called

Allegro’s breathing is much better, and it looks very much like an infection with possible liver damage. Still waiting on the blood work, but he’s doing a whole lot better. He also ate a hearty helping of gooshy food at midnight. Go Allegro!

Allegro

Allegro is very sick. Yesterday evening, John took him to the vet because he’d been lethargic, not eating, and kind of wheezy for a couple of days, and I’d noticed a fever. He’s lost 3 lbs. in 6 months, 1.5 of that just since February. He had fluid in his chest, and we took him to the 24-hour vet hospital for the weekend (we should have known it’s a 3-day weekend, book vet appointments in advance).

Last night, the emergency vet drained his chest of fluid and sent it off to the lab for testing. It looked like an infection, which is the best we hope for, as it’s easily treatable and not a sign of some underlying illness. This morning, however, Allegro is having trouble breathing again, and the vet needs to do more labs to find out why.

*scratch scratch scratch*

The poison oak I got in late January still has left little itchy spots on my right leg. It’s almost JUNE and I’m still afflicted, though not nearly as bad as it was in February.

The great sucking sound

Hear that? That big sucking sound? That’s the sound of adult content being stripped from the Internet. That’s the sound of the government passing rules that make no sense, do nothing to curb actual child pornography, and exist solely to put the genie back in the bottle and get all adult content off the ‘Net.

Details on the new 2257 Rules and Regulations here.

I personally would like to see the Department of Justice use its time and energy on actual crimes, like identity theft, rather than harassing legitimate and legal businesses and attempting to put them out of business by burying them in paperwork.

The only industry this helps, aside from lawyers, is librarians. Yes, all you library science folks– aside from the FBI, porn is one of the biggest record-keepers in the world, and about to become bigger. Betcha didn’t know THAT, did ya?
