Piano kitty

It’s really cute when I leave the piano open and Alladin decides to go piano-walking across the keys.

I have pwned my procrastination list this weekend. Not entirely, but it’s 11:15 in the morning on Sunday, and I have two major things left on the list, one minor, plus I vacuumed and did a bunch of dishes this weekend! Go me!

I cleaned up the den– put things away, replaced the lightbulb that was burned out (and put the ladder and lightbulbs back in the garage when I was done!), put away the vinegar and put the boxes that were sitting next to the garage door into the garage, tidied up, and vacuumed! It looks nice in there again…. I like having a clean house, even if I don’t like cleaning so much. :D

Movies seen recently…

Shawn of the Dead OMG, this is such a funny movie! John and I saw it tonight– really clever, and not just randomly silly funny, but smart-funny, too!

Eurotrip - To be honest, this is a silly “summer vacation” movie that knows what it is, but it also has a lot of smart moments, too. I was pleasantly surprised. Also, “Scotty doesn’t know” is the best song evar. And Lucy Lawless as a dominatrix is just well worth the price of admission.

I wish I could remember the other movie we saw last weekend…. Oh, right Time Off or something. It’s French. About a guy who loses his job but pretends he has a new job, defrauding everyone around him and lying to his family and such… it reminded me of The Cooler or some other William Macy movie– the guy had that same kind of “good natured guy with a really dark secret” vibe going for him.

Blues and Boogie Woogie

My Palm Pilot went off at 2:15 this afternoon, while I was in the middle of making a stamp for letterboxing, to let me know that the Blues and Boogie Woogie Piano workshop was starting in 15 minutes….. at Cabrillo. It normally takes 20-30 minutes to get to Cabrillo, but I made it only a couple minutes late.

It was actually a pretty cool little workshop– emphasizing chords and the blues scale, but basically I think I can do that if I were to practice for a couple of months.
