I haven't had any mood swings-- long-term effects are unlikely when you're only on it for a week. The main thing has been the temperature. Last night I woke up and my face was sweating. I've taken it many times for asthma, and here's what happens to me: 1. Sore throat 2. Weight gain, 5-10 lb. 3. Puffy face and hands 4. Crankiness (PMS-like) 5. Weird sleep cycles/insomnia 6. Achy joints If it didn't work so well on the asthma, I'd say screw it! Prednisone can definitely give you a sore throat. I’ve taken it many times for asthma, and here’s what happens to me:

1. Sore throat
2. Weight gain, 5-10 lb.

If it didn’t work so well on the asthma, I’d say screw it!
