Teh Mighty Huntar!

John came home having killed eight skeet out of twenty five. About a third of the way through, he figured out in which direction his gun’s sight was off and proceeded to kill 1/2 of the remaining clay pigeons. Plus two paper targets. Apparently (I learned this Friday night), he was on a rifle team as a child. Surprise!

He shot a shotgun, a .45, and a rifle at the gun club.

John does like to exercise as many of his Bill of Rights as he can. No, we will not be getting a gun.

The right to bear arms is great, but one less gun in the world is fine by me.

    1. Does he adhere to some wacko religion, daring the government to stop him from worshipping TaWonga by violating sheep? Or at least talk loudly about how the followers of TaWonga will wipe the earth clean of infidels?

    2. Okay, we covered this one. But does he belong to a militia? Because it’s the only reason you’re allowed to keep and bear arms.

    3. Does he only allow soldiers to stay in the house if they’ve been invited?

    4. Does he demand to see a warrant when the persecuters of TaWonga demand to search the premises for the goat that was kicking up that heinous racket?

    5. When asked directly what he was doing wearing that cape and lubing up that goat, does he refuse to answer on the grounds that he may not be compelled to testify against himself?

    6. Does he get in to see the county magistrate some time before the goat (the only eyewitness) has died a natural death of old age?

    7. Does he demand to be tried by a jury of his peers, knowing that his only true peers are also followers of TaWonga who would never convict him?

    8. Is his bail generally affordable, and therefore worked into the monthly budget?

    9. Does his right to worship TaWonga as he sees fit not cut into his neighbor’s right to be one of those freak Catholics who breed all out of proportion to their ability to cope with said progeny?

    10. Is he aware that just because the Federal Marshalls aren’t slamming his TaWonga-worshipping behind out to San Quentin, that does not preclude the state from stepping in and hauling him in on some trumped up, TaWonga-hating charge?

Just making sure he’s fully exercising ALL of his rights.

May the blessings of TaWonga be on you.

I had a great conversation with a 13 year old yesterday about how there wouldn’t be any need for guns if people just didn’t hate each other and there was no war.

Such nice thoughts… Let’s tell Cheney and Rumsfeld that and maybe they’ll get the world to be nice to each other! And those gangbangers and drug dealers with illegal guns will certainly just give them up if we ask nicely. Plus, I’m sure we can trust the Bush Administration to take care of us if we can’t protect ourselves…

i know someone that wants to get into some sort of local twice a month competition. forget what it’s called, but you use three types of guns, and you shoot moving targets, or you are moving while you shoot the targets. sounds pretty neat.
