Saturday Kickaround

John and I looked at houses today. We’re…. just looking right now.

John just left for skeet shooting with some friends.

I’m going to bum around the house, do some cleaning and some arts and crafts, and probably go geocaching this afternoon. Game got put off until tomorrow, making tomorrow a busy day, but that’s OK.

I’ll try to remember to post pics of the arts and crafts I do when I’m finished. Pretty!

I know, how horrible is that?

Those poor innocent skeet! What did they ever do to ’s husband? ;o>

i just never heard of anyone real actually doing that. i’m not even sure what skeet is, to tell the truth, and for some reason i totally cannot picture john shooting anything, even though i don’t really know him.

‘Skeet’ are clay (IIRC) discs that get fired into the air by a disc-firing thing, and then you (try to, at least) shoot them.

Ever thought of buying a lot and then building a modular home on it? :) My cousin did that and the house was actually quite nice. The lot and house price was probably less than building from scratch or buying some regular homes already out there.

Wibbble is right– Skeet are clay pigeons that get catapulted into the air. They are not alive or anything. It’s basically target practice.

A friend of ours invited him.

yeah i’m pretty sure i did know they weren’t alive, but it’s still weird to think of.

Yeah…. around here, if there’s a buildable lot, there’s probably already a house on it, or you can’t get permitting. Also, land can run very expensive, and land loans require 30% down payment, which is a lot more than a regular home loan.

I swear, I shouldn’t have bothered to mention that we went looking. We’re not even sure we’re serious about looking yet.

    Gah.

Ahh ok. I just figured for future refrence weather your planning on buying for awhile or not it might be an option. I don’t know if I want to ever buy a house even though if I’m working full time I might be able to afford it. Owning means strata fee’s and/or municipality fee’s(aka city fee’s) along with all the yard maintance and stuff if something goes wrong. I think it’s less hassle to rent. *shrug* Here they used to have the 30% but now they’ve changed it to 5% I think for new home owners.
