The rest of the day

The rest of yesterday was…. long. We didn’t feel like doing much, but there we were, still breathing and having to get on with life. Finally went to bed at 11. Naturally, I woke up at 2:30 and 6:15. 2:30 was habit– I turned off both alarms before going to bed. 6:15 was because I turned one of them back on in my dream and must have sleepwalked my hand onto the alarm.

I dreamed about Hammer, about the ghost of him, following me around the house while I was on the phone with John, crying. I dreamed he shook and I could hear the jangle of his dog tags. I petted his soft fur. I dreamed I could touch and smell him, and I was on the phone crying, knowing that it was not real.

Uh, I also dreamed about playing with beads and dice with my neice and nephew, and about Bart Simpson (second appearance of a Simpson in my dreams in 2 days, by the way).

I worked a bit on my rejections scrapbook, and decided to make this one the “juvenilia” scrapbook, and do another one for my more recent works, things that I’ve written since I turned about 25. I need to split these into 2 books anyway– there are too many pages to do just one.

I got a royalty check in the mail yesterday for $42.94. Leftovers from the HTML book, no doubt.

Played some FFX-2, which was fun. Watched The Terminal, which was a pretty good movie and had the added bonus of not having any dogs or death in it.

I made brownies last night. Organic, low-fat brownies. They would have been non-fat, but I added M&Ms to them for extra goodness.

I need to buy some dice today to go into the new dicebag that gave me– I want to get 3 small, green d6’s for my character’s extra backstab damage, and then I won’t need to haul the full-sized dice bag around. I also need to buy the D&D 3.5 player’s handbook, or print out the SRD– I’m the kind of person who really needs to have the book nearby when I’m playing.

I also need to get my sewing machine fixed.
