2004 in summary
14-Dec-04
January
I made my Resolutions: Read 50 books (: I made it), do a lot of writing (I did about 1/3 of my resolution), and be a better housekeeper. Bought an iPod. Completed a few cross-stitch projects. Went to Las Vegas for CES, which was fun, and almost tripped over Larry Flint. I had a really bad migraine and got diagnosed, finally, after 15 years. I got rejected from Zyzzyva (damn them!) And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
February
I bought SCUBA lessons for John’s birthday and was worried about my size in wetsuits. I remembered my grandfather. Gay marriages happened in San Francisco, with much personal joy. I went to DunDraCon, from which I caught a cold. My cat got sick (TMI). I got spammed about seeing The Passion and decided to boycott. I prepped for NaNoEdMo. And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
March
I worked the primary election. I finished writing An Eye for an Eye. Hammer had a lot of medical problems, resulting in surgery, and we tried to click-train him into being a good patient (it kind of worked). I celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. I got another rejection. And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
April
I pull a good one on my mom. Hammer had surgery, and ended up with complications. I signed up for Team in Training.
And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
May
I spent my 6th wedding anniversary underwater. I got a new keyboard for my laptop. I ran a 5K and started training for the marathon. I got a new pet and named him Zoot. I went on my first night dive. I had conflicted feelings about family stuff. I did yoga. I got to be in a tornado. And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
June
My father in law had a heart attack. Hammer continued to have health problems. I considered opening a bookstore. I finished editing An Eye for an Eye. I sewed a bikini for myself. And I bitched about a few things that aren’t really important.
July
My father in law came to visit and go on the Rubicon with my husband. I destroyed my cell phone. I got my final royalty payment. I got sick. Went river rafting. I ran the Wharf to Wharf. And I bitched about a whole lot of things that aren’t really important.
August
I hosted a Fondue party fundraiser. Allegro got sick, and Hammer had the first cellitis infection. I flew an airplane on my 30th birthday. I crocheted a purse, and spun yarn. I started carpooling. And I bitched about some things that aren’t really important.
September
I attended ConQuest. I had my first boat dive and sprained my foot training. I came up with an idea for a novel. And I bitched about some things that aren’t really important, and a lot of things that are.
October
I completed the marathon, which resulted in injuries but was worth it. And I bitched about some things that aren’t really important, and a lot of things that are.
November
NaNoWriMo started. The election was hard work and disappointing results. I went on the NaNoWriMo retreat. I got scared by a creepy guy. I quit a few things, which felt great. I celebrated Thanksgiving. I had some optimistic professional news. And I bitched about some things that aren’t really important, and a few things that are.
December
Hammer’s health continued to decline and it got to me. I finished Physical Therapy for my feet. And since it’s only December 13th, the rest of the month hasn’t happened, and I haven’t bitched about enough unimportant stuff.
