October 2004: Book Reviews

Sunday, October 31st, 2004

This is an archive of my shorter book reviews and notes, which historically have been posted over at the 50 Book Challenge on LiveJournal, but which I’m starting to move over here. I’m posting them with altered date-stamps, but they might show up in my LiveJournal cross-post anyway. Bear with me, please.

Note: Many of these books also have full reviews available in the book review podcast (RSS).

Elections: Check your ballot, please

Friday, October 29th, 2004

Especially if you’re voting on an electronic system, check your ballot for errors before submitting.

[I am *so glad* we have paper ballots here....]

Halloween

Friday, October 29th, 2004

I am dressed as a construction worker today. Nothing special– I don’t have the tool belt anymore, so I’m just wearing the hard hat.

Perhaps I will get or to take a pic for me to post.

Poll (adoption and pregnancy)

Thursday, October 28th, 2004

This is a (potentially triggering) poll re: adoption, unwanted pregnancies, etc. Think hard about your answers, and please answer as honestly as you can, or skip the question if you don’t want to tell me. All questions assume you are in a committed relationship, so pretend you would be in one for this poll:

No one can see your specific answers. All additional comments may be put into comment replies; anonymous commenting is OK.

Edit to add: Nobody needs to explain or defend their answers, either.
