Ow.

I donated platelets yesterday. I think I’m going to avoid doing that for a while.

My arm hurts. It’s bruised, though fortunately you can’t tell yet. The needle in the left arm was fine, but the one in the right didn’t fit very well, and they kept having to adjust it, which required a lot of pressing and poking and owch. Also, the people aren’t quite as cuddly at the apheresis part of the blood bank. Not sure why that is, but they’re just more brusque and don’t take time to explain what’s happening to me (plus I have earphones on and can’t hear them if they do try to talk to me).

Next time: whole blood. Yep. I’m going to make my whole blood appointment for mid-October, just after the marathon, so I can time my December donation for just before the holidays.
