Great saying about life

ganked from , because I love the quote and sentiment…

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather … to skid in sideways, Cocktail in one hand - strawberries & chocolate in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming…
“WOO HOO - What a Ride!”

Oddly, I thought immediately of when I read that.

Allegro

We have no idea what’s wrong with the cat. One of the hazards of paying attention to one’s pets is that sometimes, you take them to the vet before their blood chemistry changes enough to tell you definitively what’s wrong. Liver panel is slightly elevated, so we’re doing some antibiotics, tastier food than normal, and watch for fluid and food intake.

Allegro hissed and acted in pain at the vet, which is why we did x-rays, which of course show nothing. Sigh. My enigmatic kitty.

He’s 13 this year.

Allegro!

Allegro is sick. He was listless last night, not eating, threw up, etc. He felt hot, but I couldn’t tell if that was because he was sleeping.

Today, he is still hot, and I think he’s running a fever. I brushed him a bit so he might feel a little more comfortable, and made an appointment with the vet.

What troubles me most is that he’s been laying around on the floor underneath stuff, hiding. He does that sometimes, but I don’t like him doing it when he’s sick– it makes me worry that he’s going off to die or something. Much rather have him lie on my bed or in his cat tree, because I can see him when he’s in those.

I was supposed to go to Redwood Dulcimer Day today, but now will not be able to (Allegro’s vet appointment is at 11). I promised to loan my spare dulcimer, so I’m driving up to Boomeria to drop them both off for the day. Hopefully, I can arrange an easy pickup afterwards.
