I don’t think John realizes how hard it is for me not to hear from him the entire time he’s gone. The last day is the hardest, because I don’t know when he’ll be home.
Sigh. I think I’ll go for my run in a couple of minutes. Or a nap. Same thing. 
I can’t tell if Allegro was a little freaked by the fireworks and hiding under the bed because of that, or if he was just hanging out there, per his usual strategy. Whatever the case, he’s hanging out in the hallway now. All is well. I skipped the fireworks, though I couldn’t help hearing them, of course.
Hammer lay down in the living room and just stayed there. In past years, we have walked with him down to watch the fireworks with no ill effects, shaking,etc., so I knew he would be OK.
