Must be Monday

This morning:
Ran out of pill pockets for Allegro’s meds, so sent John to pick up some at the vet’s.
Hammer’s legs are shaky (collapsing more like) today. I had to drive him to work this AM.
On the way, I ran a red light in front of a motorcycle cop. I think he was too stunned to go after me. I tried to brake in time, but Hammer fell off the seat when I did, so I just coasted through the stoplight. I ended up having to exit the freeway to help him back onto the seat. He was stressed.
Picked up John after he dropped off the Jeep at the dealership. Took Hammer out to stretch his legs, back into the car.
Jamba Juice for quick breakfast-to-go.
Dropped off Hammer and John at work. Went to my work.
Dead Batteries in my FM transmitter (to get iPod sound into my car stereo, since I have no tape player to adapt to). So, no audio joy.
At work, trying to get shit to work and it won’t work and did I mention my deadline is tomorrow? Meh.
A local power failure shut down my work PCs before I got in and had the lights blinking at the nearby stoplight. Email was still down when I arrived.
My personal email address is abruptly b0rked this morning as well– the system claims my username/password isn’t correct. No, it’s correct; there’s something else going on that’s wrong. Not happy.

Can it not be Monday now? Please?

Update

Hey, I didn’t update this weekend at all. Weird.

Saturday I meant to get up early, workout, shop, and then go into work and do stuff, but my alarm didn’t go off, so I ended up shopping all morning then working out in the late afternoon and not going to work at all. I bought all new clothes to replace the stuff that is too big now that I’ve lost 25 lbs.

My sizes:
Tops: Size L (or a 14/16). Not XL anymore. Yay!
Pants: 18Short (or 18P) or XL. Previously: 20/22
Skirts: 16/18 (skirts fit looser than slacks) or XL

So, I’m not quite out of the plus department, but I’m getting closer.

I went to Village East, which is Gottschalk’s plus dept. (it’s in a different storefront, I guess so they can keep the fat women out of their stores…) Anyway, the sales lady there was…. I swear, I think she was high. Or just desperately lonely and hurting. Anyway, we talked a bit, and she did weird things like clasp my hands in hers and get all emotional about stuff, and I finally just told her that she needs to build boundaries and be willing to protect herself against the garbage around her. Apparently, I drew her to some sort of catharsis, because she said she felt like a weight had been lifted after we talked.

Mind you, she forgot to take the paint tag off of the $65 white slacks I bought (the only truly expensive item I bought during my excursion). Sigh. Really, eccentric salesclerks are only cool if they are also competent enough not to require me to return to the store.

I also bought a pair of dark green slacks at KMart that I will have to return– I bought a size 16, which is too small.

Yesterday, I got up in time to run at Wilder Ranch. Wow– lovely place to run, though I didn’t stay running quite long enough (though longer than last weekend). Anyway, I did just over 6 miles, which is an accomplishment no matter how fast or slow I went.

Afterwards, I showered, did some stuff around the house, then went in to work for a couple of hours. Not enough to get a lot done, but I cleared up a few things in the manuals, which was good. Came home, took a nap, ate dinner, etc. etc. etc. The nap really helped my left knee, which was bugging me after the long run. I put tiger balm and a knee brace on it before I lied down, which really helped.

Oh, and last night I quick-edited about 15 pages in the novel. I have 80 left before I can do another printout for a re-read and phase two of editing it. I had meant to fill in the scenes that are missing from it, but I’ve lost so much perspective on this thing, I really need to start over with a new hard copy.
