I forgot to mention: my game of 2 years ended on Saturday night. Had one player burning out, and I was burning out, so we suspended indefinitely, and I told them their backstories, so I wouldn’t go crazy wanting to tell them shit.
I have no idea what I will do with my Saturday nights now. I’ve been gaming on weekends for about 8 years, fairly consistently.
Both pictures were light-balanced to adjust for the darkness of my cubicle. They were not color-adjusted.

There’s no way I can catch up on everyone’s posts on my Friends page from this weekend, so I’ll just say I love you all.
I told John about the fish. He did not mock me. He gave me a ton of ideas for names for the fish, even before he’s seen a picture. I hope the fishy is still alive when I get to work this morning.
As you might know from Saturday’s phone post, my 5K went very well. Personal best time of 43:15 for the 5K, with a pace of 13:55/mile (not bad for a slow run/walker). I got a stitch in my side halfway through the race, and a second one (other side) just before the end, but I finished. I got a free massage after the race, and drank lots of water before John and I went to the Artichoke Festival in Castroville on the way home.
I was in agony yesterday, but still managed to do two dives at Lover’s Point. One was to the pinnacle rocks, about 40′ deep. I navigated there fairly well, and hid my confusion perfectly when we got lost (ahem). John led the second dive to more shallow kelp reefs, but the water was very surgey there. I did see a halibut– something the spear-fisher in our group was really sad to hear. One bonus: no leg cramps this time. Either I’m getting stronger, or my body was beyond cramping it was so tired and sore. Oh, and I didn’t have any buoyancy problems, either. Yay! I did fall on the way out and expect to receive a big bruise on my thigh in thanks, but so far it hasn’t materialized.
Afterwards, we all went out for lunch. I overate. Massively. I was in pain.
When we got home, I had an email from that his boy’s first birthday party was in the evening, not during the day. Since it was 5:30, and the party had started, we hopped into the shower and hit KMart before going over to the festivities. I don’t know if we missed much, but we got there ate 6:30 and stayed until 8, when we were both so tired we thought we might just fall asleep right there. John had the idea to buy animal-making balloons at KMart, so we made balloon sculptures for the kids all afternoon. It was cute and fun.
