physical stuff, virus. Meh.

Despite being in bed and asleep before 10:30 last night, I am still kind of wonky today.

Can’t decide if I should workout or not, though. I think I’m just overly tired, but again, I don’t want to suppress my immune system and let the virus win. Am also having some TMI symptoms that make me worry about dehydration and such.

I think I’ll take it easy again today, and do a good workout tomorrow. We’re scheduled to dive on Saturday, and I really want to be healthy for it.

Saturday might be the deep dive. John and I ordered Nitrox-32 (32% oxygen: normal air is 21%) for the dive. With 32, we should be able to go down pretty far, though we will have to keep track of our O2 toxicity and partial pressure and such.

Lunch plans for today….. I didn’t bring a lunch, so I’ll go out. Hmmm….. Ravioli’s sounds kind of promising, actually. Although, honestly, I think I should go for plain soup today.

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention two days ago marked the 118th anniversary of the Haymarket Riots in Chicago. The Haymarket demonstrations were part of a movement to create an 8 hour workday for workers.

Yummy

Last night John made an organic chervil salsa from scratch. We had it with chips and turkey tacos in celebration of Cinco de Mayo (but minus the booze, cause I wasn’t feeling too well last night).

I think he made about a cup of the mild salsa for me.

I ate it all. I dipped chips in it and I spooned it all over my tacos, of which I had 3. I ended up needing a heartburn med last night to stave off the repeating salsa-ness. But the salsa was so good.

John really is a very good cook.

Quick post

I’m fighting a virus. I woke up this morning with a sore back and neck. The back is from a bad mattress and cause I think I pulled a muscle a few weeks ago. The neck is that tension your neck gets when it tightens up to protect the nerves from a virus. It’ll pass in a few days, but it’s uncomfortable and a warning sign.

I left work early today and when I got home, I crashed on the couch and slept for about an hour and a half. I then proceeded to camp out on the sofa for the next 3 hours watching TV and eating dinner and generally being a bump on a log.

Yep. Virus. I’m telling ya. I’m going to take care of myself by going to bed before 10 tonight. Again.
