What’s goin’ on?

Things that are going on right now:
Running. Yes, I’m doing it. Nearly every day now. Monday was a rest day to actually let my body heal. Yesterday was a rest day because I had no time to workout. I dislike those kinds of rest days. I’m up to 3:30 of run time, but I run VERY slowly. I might drop back to 3:00; I was making better time.
SCUBA. John and I had Nitrox class last night. We have to pick up our advanced gear this weekend– probably Saturday when we get our rental gear and tanks for Sunday’s dives. I need to order prints of the photos from Matt.
Travel. I’m going to Missouri for Memorial Day to celebrate my sister’s wedding. While there, I plan to take in a Royals game, hopefully with my family. Best part: John is coming with me!!! EEEEE!!!!
Writing. I had a writing lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, and I have one today as well. I haven’t done nearly as much as I wanted to this week. I wanted to edit 2 chapters and critique ’s story. I did do phase one of a critique for ; the finished crit is going back to her by Tuesday, so at least that goal is being met.
Correspondance. I’m watching with amusement the drama on Postcardx.net, particularly in the Talk section. Scary enough, I agree with the anonymous posters about various “takers” on the site. But then, I also think the basic concept of it as a medium for random contacts is solid and should be pursued. With that in mind, I mailed 3 pieces of Px.net mail out this week. I need to write in my Jenny journal and in my Austin Art journal and mail them off to MO.
Work. Gah. I have something due today that’s very important and very much harder than it should be, for some reason. I need to figure out what to do with my life. I can’t be a tech writer forever. For one thing, it’s the 21st century female ghetto equivalent of the steno pool. I can rise above that and do better.
John. My husband is terrific.
Gaming. We have game scheduled for tomorrow night. I have to call players and let them know what time; I want to play later than usual this week, cause of Dulcimer Gathering in Boulder Creek tomorrow afternoon. Also in the gaming scene: I’m going to see about running a Looney Labs game demo at my mom’s over Memorial Day weekend, running Fluxx and Chrononauts and possibly Pyramids, though I don’t know how to play well enough to do that, I think. That would be fun, and it would be nice to run a demo when there’s no chance of me pissing off the establishment enough to get banned. 
Social. BBQ next Sunday at my house! If you’re local and you didn’t get an evite, comment here or send me email (to my @livejournal.com address) and I’ll send you one.
Pets. Allegro’s having a UTI infection– he’s on antibiotics, prednisone, and the amatryptaline. He’s starting to get better as of this morning, which is good. Now we go through the process of de-urinating everything he’s peed on. Sigh. Meanwhile, Hammer is doing GREAT. He leaps into the Jeep, though yesterday he didn’t make it the first time. He’s also on Pet Tabs, 3 cans of wet food a day, and glucosamine. I click-treat him for the pet tabs and glucosamine, and he’s taking them. Good boy!
Weight Loss/Health. I lost .6 lbs. this week, a depressingly small number, to be sure. However, I am wearing a size L t-shirt today. I think I’m converting fat to muscle or something. I ordered size L t-shirts for my upcoming races as well; I’m slowly converting my free t-shirt collection down a size.
Crafts. I have to finish the x-stitch I was working on for Jenny and frame it and Lizzie’s so I can take hers to MO for the reception (I will ship the kids’, though). Crafts are otherwise on hold through May, I think; I have too much else to do this month.
Music. There’s a Dulcimer Gathering tomorrow in Boulder Creek. I’m going to it, though I will probably leave early. Tomorrow is a busy day for me with the game and chores in the morning, plus I have to be in bed early for SCUBA on Sunday morning.
