Lazy? Sunday

Today was lazier than yesterday, I think. We had SCUBA class from 9 until 2:00, with the instructor being late cause of daylight savings time (different instructor this time; our regular instructor was on a dive, I think).

Anyway, came home. Hung with Brian and watched the end of The Man Who Knew Too Little, followed by Good Eats for an hour and a half. Brian went home.

I was supposed to run today, but…. I’m feeling very unmotivated. I think my right knee is kind of sore– not in an injury kind of way, just sore. It needs a day of rest. I’ll workout tomorrow, and give myself a break today. I’m upping the duration of my runs next week anyway, so I want to be well-rested.

This week’s workout schedule:
Monday: 3 minutes walk, 2 minutes run x6 or 7.
Tuesday: 3 minutes walk, 2 minutes run x6 or 7, plus arms workout
Wednesday: 30 minutes walk, plus legs workout.
Thursday: 3 minutes walk, 2 minutes run x7.
Friday: 3 minutes walk, 2 minutes x4, plus arms workout
Saturday: Training run. 3 minutes walk, 2 minutes run x8, for distance (up and down the path at Skypark twice).
Sunday: 30 minutes of walking. Monday is back to being a rest day (Sunday is Easter, so no SCUBA).

BTW: Hammer’s training is going well. We’re adding the verbal cue into his training. The new sequence is: Hammer turns his head to the left. Trainer says “left” and clicks and gives a treat (within 2-3 seconds). Keep this up and in another week or so, he’ll be turning his head to the left on cue. He actually came to get me for a training session yesterday– it was so cute!

Saturday

Well, I was going to update about having a lazy Saturday. Want to hear how lazy my day was?

6:40 AM: wake up. Dog goes out. Steph uses the facilities. Goes back to bed.
7:00 AM: Make love.
7:30ish AM: Shower. Feed the dog and cat. Check email, LiveJournal, Y! Groups.
8:00 AM: Walk for a half hour with John. We walked cause he doesn’t have running shoes.
8:50 AM: Stop at Walgreen’s to request my prescription refill. Get there as they open the pharmacy. Put in the refill request. Go get breakfast.
9:20 AM: Pick up prescription and pick out birthday cards for my dad, John’s mom, and a get-well card for a friend at work. Dad’s card is perfect. It’s a guy sitting on a brown couch (from probably 1978). On his right is a little girl, about age 3. On his left is a little girl about age 5. They could all be dead ringers for my sister, my dad, and me. The littlest and the man are holding up cards that say “Happy Birthday!” and the 5 years old (who is on the far right on the card) is holding one that says “I like corn on the cob.” Inside, PRINTED on the card it says “(please disregard Stephanie) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” I kid you not. Stephanie. If “Stephanie” were the younger girl, I would have though someone had ransacked our photo albums. How could I not get this card and send it to my dad?
9:30 AM: Go home. Hammer has been alone for an hour and a half. He doesn’t bother to get up and greet us when we come in.
11:00 AM: After I pester him for a bit, John agrees to go run errands with me. We go to:
11:15 AM: the post office, where I buy stamps for oversized pieces of mail (they don’t make an actual 49 cent stamp?) and mail Dad’s birthday card.
11:45 AM: Fleet Feet in Aptos, where we each buy shoes, I buy socks, shoelaces, a fanny pack, and a pedometer.
12:30 PM: a little family-style restaurant where we ate ostrich burgers and eavesdropped on this amazing megalomaniac talking about how his problems aren’t really his fault.
1:30 PM: OfficeMax, to buy tax software, which they don’t have for OS X, and paper, which is cross-platform.
2:00 PM: Home again. Unload the car. Is it naptime yet? I kick around on the computer for a bit, watch some TV… the usual. John plays Civ.
2:15 PM: I go out to the natural foods store and buy several loose-leaf teas and some organic veggies. I go home, ready to kick around and be lazy.
2:45 PM: I discard the old leaf teas and wash out their containers. I make new labels for the containers for the teas they will hold.
3:15 PM: More kicking around, laziness. I decide to put some Tiger Balm on my pecs, which hurt from yesterday (so do my delts, by the way– there’s not much on my upper body that isn’t in pain today).
4:30 PM: I decide that the backyard is in terrible shape. I change into jeans and get out the weedwhacker. I have John teach me how to replace the string and refresh my memory on how to start the motor.
4:45 PM: I turn the flat, bottom part of the backyard into salad.
5:15 PM: I come in and immediately head for the shower. I am covered in green pulp.
5:30 PM: I go into the den and watch the last half of ER from Thursday.
6:00 PM: I watch the last half hour of Addicted to Love on HBO.
6:30 PM: I watch Two Weeks Notice. This movie has to be great because it has Sandra Bullock in it. On the other hand, it must suck because of Hugh Grant. What to do?
7:00ish: John makes and serves dinner. Iron Chef Johnny!
8:00 PM: Movie over. Boy, I have really lazed around today! So much on my list I didn’t get done! I come into the office, check email and LiveJournal. I look at my list.
8:45 PM: I finish writing my “Saturday day in the life” post. and post it to LiveJournal. I intend to read my SCUBA book (since I haven’t finished the assignment), write for 5 minutes, and then go to bed. The other things on my list can wait till tomorrow night. At least we’re not in the pool tomorrow, so I won’t be exhausted at the end of the day.
