HBO, Sopranos
08-Mar-04
John and I subscribed to HBO and Cinemax, as of Saturday night.
Turns out our timing could not be better. The Sopranos season five premier was on last night. We watched it. Much good and loveliness all around. Also, much much much ugliness, which must be what fascinates us, since I can’t imagine watching this show for the deep human compassion shown. It’s like the anti-Lifetime.
I’m thinking of putting into my userinfo a list of people I’m looking to reconnect with, because I miss them. I’ve already been found by (yay!), but I’m missing a few high school friends, a couple of college buddies, and wouldn’t mind keeping tabs on at least one ex. Most of the people I’ve lost touch with, I don’t care, but…. there are a few who I would really like to find. Some people really helped me through the worst part of me, some people just have The Spark of whatever you want to call it, that makes them immensely wonderful (and me, being a total idiot, may have blown them off through jealousy or stupidity, but now want to make it up).
Oh, and says that LiveJournal isn’t at all like a blog. For various reasons, I tend to agree with him, though the main argument that had me agreeing had more to do with its effect than with any kind of definition I could put my finger on. So, what do you all think? What are the defining characteristics of a “blog,” versus those of a LiveJournal?
