No, not homesick. I went home.
I am trying ’s remedy of ginger+lime+honey. I am also trying Vick’s remedy of Phenol spray. I am also seeing if my sister’s remedy of antioxidants (i.e., dark chocolate– I knew what you were referring to, ) might work.
So far: I have numbed my mouth– not my throat, where it hurts– with the phenol spray. I have tried drinking the lime/ginger/honey concoction, which is not as awful as I thought it would be, but is pretty close. And I am eating the chocolate, which would go much better with red wine instead of hot ginger/lime/honey drink.
I am also considering a nap. 4 or 5 or 6 hours ought to be enough.

I made it through a weekend of little sleep, a feather pillow that stuffed my nose up, and a total of 28 hours of gaming and even more hours of talking, with no problems whatsoever.
Last night, during my hour and a half long fucked up commute home, I screamed so loud and was so frustrated with the traffic that wasn’t moving, I gave myself a sore throat.
Which has worsened. Last night, I didn’t sleep well, because it burned all night long.
This morning, it still hurts. And I don’t have enough sick time to stay home, because on Monday I have to go to the doctor for my SCUBA clearance– and I have to be healthy enough to get that clearance!
John points out that I might have caught it from someone at one of the games, and I do have to admit that Mr. Dramatic-in-black at the Og game didn’t have a voice anymore and did not respect my personal space. Now I really wish I’d smacked him around harder.
