Just listed a bunch of PC Games on EBay tonight. Finally getting rid of the whole Baldur’s Gate series (I recently bought BG for Mac anyway). Three of the games are brand new– I never even got to play them. In some ways, I think that was a kind of addiction for me– buying the games, even if I could never play them.
I’m also watching an auction for the MP3 adapter for the Sony Clie– I’m hoping it sells well; I’m planning on listing mine after its auction closes, so I know what to ask for it.
In loosely-related news: I cannot beat Jecht in FFX. I thought I was doing well today, but then he wiped out everyone with two sword hits, and nobody really had a chance (for some reason, Auron– who wasn’t petrified– wasn’t moving). Ah, well. I’ll try more tomorrow, after the root canal. I suspect I will be uninterested in doing much after that. What a bummer.
FFX-2 is kind of cool, though I have to re-orient my thinking for it. It’s definitely a girl’s game– a girlpower game, really. Think FFX meets Charlie’s Angels meets Barbie’s Dress-Up Adventure, meets getting together with your girlfriends and singing to pop music. Yes, a major component of this game is what outfit are the characters wearing. I think it’s neat and fun… but it’s definitely a more feminine style of play.
Also, I am sure the cosplayers are very excited and happy about the Garment Grid.
But…. Tidus makes an appearance early, and the emotional impact of it is important. I know– sort of– how things end in FFX. I haven’t finished it, but I’ve read one (just one) mention of a scene that sounded poignant. If FFX-2 continues the storyline between Yuna and Tidus… well, that would just rock.
Which reminds me to make a FFX/FFX-2 userpic or three, now that I have the space. ![]()
