Geek hobbies.

OUCH!

I don’t want to tell you how many of these I belong to….

I will, however, point out that my sister, The Cool One, is *also* in there. Somehow, my angst over being the nerdy one is finally assuaged.

Interesting. If I use the word “assuaged” in a sentence, my nerdiness angst comes back.

NaNoWriMo Journal, all the journals that relate to me…..

I posted my sentence-level outline to my newly-created NaNoWriMo journal, . I suppose that’s a good working title to start with, as it related to two key items in the story: the idea of justice, and the fact that Obe is all eyes.

Feel free to join it or watch it if you’d like to see posts and excerpts in November. Posting access is restricted for obvious reasons, but you can comment on any comment-enabled post there. I’ll be honest and say that comments that are positive and encouraging are preferred, at least until I finish writing, because I don’t need to self-edit as I write– editing can come later.

In case you are wondering, the other journals that are related in some way to me (i.e., are not communities created for the purpose of fostering community and dialog) are:

- the journal for Cass, my character. The RPG is on permanent hiatus, but the journal is still active. It’s friends-only, but you can ask, if you really want to see the dreck that is Cass’ personality.

- a pointless comm I created to muse about the meaning of the word. Almost no traffic.

- the journal for my NaNoWriMo 2003 novel. I expect periodic posts in October, near-daily posts in November, and infrequent posts, if ever, after that.

- my fitness journal. I log my exercise here. I should log my food here, too, but instead I’m entering that in my WW log. Comments are enabled, and supportive remarks are always welcome.

- my piano practice journal. Required for my piano class. I made it a comm so I could post without logging out and back in again (actually, I did that with a lot of my topic-specific journals). Comments are disabled because I have to hand it in to my professor, but you are always welcome to post in my main journal about something you saw in this one.

- the RSS feed for my Plog. It contains book reviews for books I have recently read. It’s only book reviews. Add it to your RSS feeds if you’re interested in finding out what I read and how I liked it. I post there about once or twice a month (which tells you how pathetic my reading life is). If you read it in my Plog, the body of the review is cut, so you don’t have to encounter spoilers unless you want to.

- my support journal. Friends-only, and I’m extremely selective, because this is where I bitch about support when I need to vent, and I don’t need drama in my life.

- my NaNoWriMo 2002 journal. Infrequent posts in October. Daily updates in November. Two posts in December– and that’s it. If I ever get around to editing, I will probably post again.

- a community created by someone who loves me. Awww!!! Go join– isn’t it sad that I haven’t?

Victories

I weighed in last night– I lost 3 pounds this week! Woo!!!!!

At NaNoWriMo, not only did I resist the many baked goodies at Coffee Society, but I also wrote out a detailed sentence outline for my novel. I will post it later for feedback. I may post it in this year’s NaNoWriMo journal, which I haven’t created yet.

Came home, watched TV, had dinner– didn’t eat everything in the bowl, which is also a victory for me.

Anyway, that’s pretty much it. Go me!

Tonight, I have the math assessment test. It’s okay to be really nervous, right? ;)
