Techie

It turns out the cradle for my Sony Clie is dead. It died sometime while I was trying to fix various software issues, so of course I’ve been going crazy trying to fix the software issues, and only lightly suspecting that it might be the cradle.

From now on, when something technological ups and dies, I’m just going to suspect the hardware first, okay? I’m no longer using Microsoft software– there’s no reason to automatically suspect that the software must be sucking. I’ll suspect the hardware first and work my way back.

In related news: I just bought a Clie cable for $11 on eBay. Yeah, another one of those guys who thinks if he lists for $5 and adds $6 s&h, he’s going to fool someone.

BTW: I take back what I said before about the seller who charged $11 for shipping– the packaging on the item (a three-pronged hat rack) was elaborate and very thorough, and resulted in the item arriving without damage, so it was worth it after all.

I have three large boxes of books sitting in my garage. If I tried to sell them all on eBay, would it be worth the hassle? I’ll have to think about that– on the one hand, donating books is a Good Thing. On the other hand, so is money.
