Halloween Party Poll

Edit: Note that this is a hypothetical question, here. I’m not asking you to decide if you’re going to make it to my party, only what you would do if this were on the invitation.

Obviously, you can include other suggestions (like egging the hostess’ house) in the comments section.

Last night I dreamed the strangest dream….

And since I had my writing journal right there, because I’d been reading about aliens last night, I woke up this morning and jotted it down before it slipped out of my mind entirely.

indicates later notes
Various fantasy animals, starting with a unicorn, appearing all over twon. A dinosaur at the bank– a cluster of them outside, a dragon? trolls, flying saucers, and extraterrestrials [see the intro to 10th Kingdom for some idea]. There was damage to the city buildings [clouds of dust and smoke-- reminiscent of 9/11]. Some (most) can’t see them. Cameras don’t work [they take pictures of things that are ordinary/mundane, but which have some sort of parallel to the fantasy creatures being photographed].
A family can [see them]–
they live on “virgin” earth, untainted– with a dock, water [river], a swamp or bayou?
Granny (dead), Grandpa and his girlfriend. Down the river, a fellow musician playing “A Man of Constant Sorrow” on mandolin/guitar.
Gerdi (from E.T.– grown up, Drew Barrymore), gets shot, so does E.T., whose head she brings back to the family.
The older son never really gets much from the family [he's kind of a disappointment]
The younger son [older than Gertie-- possibly Elliot?] has “the Gift,” the heritage is his, if he can figure out what’s going on [with these magical animals showing up.]
When the swamp hands him a musical instrument (mandolin? banjo?), the older brother asks for it. He hesitates for a moment, wanting to keep it [for himself-- there's power], but then gives it, because he loves his brother and would deny him nothing (they must either be old enough for this maturity, or have seen hard times).
Virgin groun– no “evil” has hit their family’s land, ever– it’s why the school always meets up there after field trips– everyon thinks its lucky.
The unicorn– blue-silver-white, ridden at first by a teen [urban], (a man in a suit?), later by some cherub [a la Precious Moments].
Dinner at the family’s house– the boy and the brother are late. Grandma seems to be haunting Grandpa?
