The den is all set up.
I’ve put a bunch of books in my office– and there’s still space on my shelves, largely due to the 4 boxes of books I’m giving away or have given away since starting this process.
Woot.
Also, the only Windows software I’m not “ready” to part with is on my shelf– SimCity2K (I’m probably ready to let that go), the Baldur’s Gate series, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and the D&D Core Rules toolbox (from 2nd edition). Of these, only Planescape is unavailable for Mac or Linux and too wonderful to let go (the core rules were great, but aren’t needed for play).
I have German and Latin software to give away. This should be fun.
I still have space on my shelves.
And today I found a little side table that’s 20″ high, the perfect height for the rocking chair in my office (the one I sometimes sit and read in, but which needs some repair before I can be less than perfectly gentle with it– it’s an antique, of course). I’m going back tomorrow to buy the side table. We were at Sweets in the Nude for a dining room table today (which we bought)– that’s where I saw the side table. Eee! Must remember to have them assemble and stain it, though– I *still* have the printer stand from 3 years ago on my to-do list.
And then I’ll need to start casting about for decent crafting storage options. We took out the bookshelf in the bedroom that was housing my craft and sewing supplies, so I need to re-locate them (along with my art supplies). This is actually not a small amount of material and storage space, as anyone with crafting experience knows. Add the sewing (and fabric) supplies, and the art supplies, and I’ve got a real serious storage issue here!
This week, Inga and I are starting our writing prompt-a-week thing. I’ll have to be sure to share the “damn dog” prompt with her (which I had meant to disable comments on– I didn’t need to have everyone’s stories in my comments, oops).
Anyway, John wants to go out and get a movie now, and I’ve got two things on my desk *right now* that belong in the living room, so I think I’ll go move those.
