The DMV rejected my order for the HY4LIFE vanity plate!
Grrr!
Had a nice, long long long long day yesterday, and again today– little ones can be pretty exhausting! Whew!
Yesterday: Went to mom’s in the morning, then met Jenny at her school. Set up her computer at school so she can get her email there. Went with her to her place, where Austin and I played the fishing game for an hour or so.
Had dinner with Jenny, her kids, and her boyfriend Jason who seems like a good guy.
Went home after dinner, and crashed. Was supposed to meet up with mom, but she crashed, too. Left my laptop at Jenny’s, so I had to call mom and ask her to pick it up in the morning when she got the kids.
The kids were at mom’s house in the morning when I got up and over there. Austin and I went to the Wallace State Park, where I thought there was a geocache, but was wrong (it’s at Watkins State Park instead). We went for a walk and played in the playground, then went back to mom’s house.
We went to St. Joseph after Jenny got to Mom’s after work (she’s on half days this week because of the heat). Took photos with Mom, the kids, and Oren, then Jenny, Austin, Lizzie, and I went to the music store, where I got Austin his violin (a rental). He’ll start lessons this year, hopefully for a nice, long future as a musician! ![]()
I wonder if I can get him on the phone every night for 15 minutes to listen to him practice?
Anyway, then we went to dinner, and then the drive home. I got in about 2 hours ago (still need to practice, ahem), and am now doing my online stuff, email, journal, etc. Updated Jenny’s journal style to use component– hope she likes it. If not, I can always change it back.
Well, I visited with my sister and her family and my mom and such at the birthday partay. It was at Mom’s place so it could be a pool party– it’s 100 degrees here. My sister’s unbirthday present melted– I feel bad.
Lizzie loves her egg maraca. It’s great– it’s a plastic gold egg that makes a “chik-a” noise when you shake it. Austin will like the games, once his computer is set up– he was wild about the new fishing game he got, though.
Jenny looks fantastic. I mean– wow! She’s lost all the pregnancy weight that she should lose (no, seriously– not another ounce), and she’s tan all over. I’m the ugly duckling next to her (eh), but when she was trying to wrestle me in the pool, I proved to her why Flyweights Do Not Wrestle Heavyweights. *chuckle*
I am sooooo tired. But I am sooooo loving the hotel room. FREE WI-FI IN MY ROOM, BAY-BEEEE!!! Yeah! OK, I realize that’s like a tiny thing to be happy about, but I’m also happy that there’s a tub I can soak in, and that I have a quiet place to withdraw to when I need alone time. I’m not real big on alone time, but it’s good to get away once in a while.
OK, that’s it for now. I need to go practice quietly for 15 minutes and then crash.
I want some userpics for my Plogs.net account, where I post book reviews (and only book reviews).
I’m looking for userpics with a literary theme that have grade on them (like “A,” “B,” “C,” etc.)
Anyone on my Friends list feeling creative and want to make userpics for me?
I rarely do these, but why not?
1. When was the last time you laughed?
Probably this morning at the vet’s office, laughing about one of the fur-kids, or chatting with the vet I laugh and talk a lot with doctors, usually out of nervousness. How they respond is a good measure of their bedside manner.
2. Who was the last person you had an argument with?
My husband John, for letting the cat out of the house yesterday morning when we needed to confine him. We usually don’t argue much, though.
3. Who was the last person you emailed?
Someone from our Japan office (at work).
4. When was the last time you bathed?
Bath? Um, last Saturday morning, I think. Shower: This morning.
5. What was the last thing you ate?
A blueberry bagel with butter and a non-fat mocha.
