$17.82. The balance of my check after my agent takes her well-earned 15% cut out of the $20.97 very first royalty check I’ve ever earned. Yes– this is the first money above my advance that I’ve ever received.

Arrived in the mail this weekend while we were away.

I’m pretty floaty right now, yep!

Edit: The royalty is for the computer book I wrote on HTML, which was published in 1998. It’s full of editorial errors and is somewhat obsolete now, but apparently it still sells a litte.

Well, we just got back from the last evening of the reunion, at least the last we’ll be here for.

John’s family is wonderful, very nice people; you know you’d never feel let down by these folks.

Meeting and today was fun– we had lunch, which was pleasant, and generally chit-chatted for about 2 hours before I had to hop back on the ferry and head back to the island.

Bed soon– have to get up tomorrow at 5:30 to catch the 6:30 ferry and get to the airport in time for our flight at 10. Whee!
