Housekeeping stuff

I’m working on decluttering the bedroom and bathroom and closet. This is a monumental task– I can easily see it’s going to take 6 months or more. So far, I have de-cluttered one and a half shelves from the bookcase, but in some ways I moved the clutter from one space to another. I did manage to get together one bag of trash. I really need to evaluate the craft project situation– a lot of my unstarted kits can be given away somewhere, as there’s no chance I’ll be making them.
Last night, I got around to decluttering at 11:15 at night, 30 minutes after I should have been in bed. Guh. That was a little too late to be “blessing my house,” and it showed. I did manage to run dishwasher and wash a dirty pan last night, so that was good. I just need to not have spent quite so much time playing The Sims (woo! with House Party! on the Mac!).
I practiced last night as well. I skipped playing on Wednesday, and it showed. Oh, man, did it show. I totally did not expect to be that clumsy after just a day, but there I was. I was tripping over the parts I hadn’t tripped over before, even when I was just starting to practice regularly (uh, a week ago, as of today– why does it seem longer?)
August 2 is Dulcimer Day in Bonny Doon. I’m signed up to go. I’m hoping to get into a 4-string workshop, and of course there are various jams and opens throughout the day, which should be fun. I emailed Bird to see if LittleBird might want to go– she’s old enough to go this year (it’s adults and “responsible teens” this year, which she qualifies for, at least). She plays a 2-string dulcimer, which I’ve never even seen but think is kind of a cool idea. 
I have a splitting headache today from dehydration. Totally not keeping up with this weather, because I’m in air conditioning at work and in the car, and then I get home and its hot and muggy all over the place. Ew.
Today at breakfast I downloaded OpenOffice.org onto Trinity. We like… very much. Runs nicely under X11, and opened my Plumber story just fine (so I can work on that, now, I suppose). : that’s the short little horror piece I want to show you sometime. I think you’d find it amusing.
I also want to write a vignette for Kippen () and Cass’ () breakup (both characters in ). I think that would be fun to write. 
I’m going to do some writing during lunch. I just haven’t decided what. And what I might eat while doing so (please, no spillage on Trinity!)
Inga keeps trying to convince me to pursue publication. I’m not ready for that yet– mostly because I don’t have much to send out, and I don’t have the time and energy to write/edit/research markets/send things out/deal with rejection (some of those activities are more draining than others, of course). I’m just now moving towards public reading of my poetry. And I might do an open music mic later this summer or fall. But I’m not ready to work on a major science fiction or fantasy project yet. I don’t– quite– have enough to say to put into a project like that.
Tonight is date night. I plan to declutter some part of the bedroom or bathroom for my 15 minutes, and play my dulcimer (maybe during our porch date), and spend time with my sweetie. That’s all a girl can really ask for, now isn’t it?
I wish my head didn’t hurt. It’s mostly on the left, but it hurts all the way around the back, and over half my face, particularly in the cheek and jawbones. Ugh. I also wish I had more painkillers here at work– I ran out yesterday. I wonder if I have any in the car first aid kit.
