4-string dulcimer name

Monday, June 30th, 2003

The winner of the name-the-dulcimer poll is “Percival,” which was submitted as “Percy” by , and changed to Percival by me (because I like the full version of the name better). This name is okay with me as a name for this dulcimer, so from here on out, it shall be so.

Which makes this the first “male” instrument I’ve ever owned.

And I was just thinking about her yesterday

Katherine Hepburn. I was thinking “Isn’t it wonderful that she’s still around?”

Will miss her greatly. Such a presence in the theatre. Such a wonderful inspiration to so many young women.

Spenser Tracy was my grandfather’s roommate in college, if my mom’s memory is correct.

Trinity

Sunday, June 29th, 2003

I installed Mozilla and iJournal on Trinity today, and put up a cute little background wallpaper from Matrix: Reloaded today.

So, I’m updating now from iJournal, and viewing LJ in Mozilla. I uninstalled the lame-o MS Office preview from Trinity, and it’s only a matter of time before I figure out how to get rid of Internet Explorer. Microsoft-free, all the way!

John and I got up early this morning and did some weedwhacking in the backyard until it got hot at 9. After my shower, I got dressed and put on one of my pretty new hats.

Seattle Area Gather

Saturday, June 28th, 2003

OK, John and I will be at Whidbey Island from July 3 through July 6. I’d like to get together with fellow LJers in the Seattle area, perhaps on the afternoon of the 5th or something.

Comment here if you’re in Seattle next weekend and would like to meet up.

Flylady!

I went home early cause of the headache. Basically sat in bed and wrote on Trinity (the Cass/Kippen story), until she heated up so bad I was burning my wrists. Whoops.

At about 6:30, I felt up to moving again, so I got out of bed and did my 15 minutes of de-cluttering. Which turned into just over half an hour, but I’ve now got the crafts bookshelves looking less like CRAP bookshelves. No, it’s still messy and cluttered-looking, but I’ve made a dent.

And in the process of denting that space, I moved some clutter to the inside of the chest at the foot of the bed. The top of the chest is still cleared off. I consider that a victory.

I do now have about a dozen cross-stitch patterns and kits that I’m giving away, along with various other crafting and sewing supplies. I’ll post sometime a list of the patterns I have and in what condition they’re in (some are patterns from kits I finished, some are kits I bought but never started, etc.)

Oh, and Lynn: Can I leaf through your turtle patterns sometime? I’m still looking for a good turtle pattern for my mother-in-law’s hat.

It’s date night tonight, which means I’ll be unavailable for the rest of the evening. Have a good night, everyone.
