I finished my camping skirt last night:

The hem is a little uneven, but it’s fine– it’s a 6-gore skirt, so the hem can be kind of “flowing.” I discovered the overlock stitch on my machine last night, which made finishing the seams a lot easier (and would have been even easier if I’d discovered it before I made the waistband– oops!) I do want to add two buttons and buttonholes or snaps for “hitching” the skirt up to hike/walk in.
I also want to lose about 15 lbs. so the skirt will actually fit (ahem!).
Last night, I slept weird. First I had nightmares until about 3 AM, when I woke up to go to the bathroom. When I got back into bed, I smelled cat pee (oh, Joy!), so I woke John up and changed the sheets and locked the cat in the kitchen.
When I fell back asleep, I dreamed I was Supergirl in a team with Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. Even though I was Supergirl, I didn’t have any particularly special powers, and I think I wore a pink costume instead of Supergirl’s blue-and-red-and-gold one. Oh, well.
Apparently, I was Batgirl’s sidekick, which was less than amusing (Batgirl was played by my sister, ). But Robin and I, when waiting for some dates at the bat-cave, discovered a couple of bombs that had been planted on the bat-cave (Batman oh-so-brilliantly had made a sign for his date to find the bat-cave– it had a big arrow pointing up; all you had to figure out was that “up” meant “forward” instead of “in the sky”).
Anyway, we actually got everyone out before the bomb (which turned out to be fairly small and not very flashy) went off. There was a school across the street, so we took the opportunity to spend some time talking to the kids and doing a little PR work. I spoke to a little troop of Daisy Girl Scouts and explained to them how important it was that your friends listen to you when you need help (Robin and then Batman and Batgirl had not wanted to believe me that there was a bomb). That’s about when I woke up.
As for the traffic, there’s an accident on Highway 17 northbound that has both lanes blocked. It’s on the other side of the hill, but I have to go through it to get to work. I heard on the radio that there’s a pregnant woman injured in the accident, so I’m guessing it’ll be a while before everything is cleared to go. I turned around and came home, and should now find something productive to do while I wait for the road to clear.
