Plugging plogs.net

Tuesday, April 29th, 2003

If you haven’t already checked out Plogs, I suggest you do so. I have a plog; it’s refreshing to have a more professional-oriented community to post my book reviews in. I like having a separate plog for this, so I can keep at least one thread of my thought process in a more easily searched site. Also, some very good friends of mine started plogs with the idea of building a management infrastructure that works, rather than one that relies on a single individual. If you’ve ever been part of a start-up, you know that a team mindset is what you need to go beyond the initial burn-through capital, and that’s what plogs.net has– a kick-ass team at the helm.

Creating a plog is free, but only paid plogs can post entries (basic plogs can post comments), which keeps rates low and encourages people to use their plogs for more than teenaged angsty whining.

Right now, plogs is having a sale on accounts, which you can read about here, with group rates available and full accounts at just $10/year (that’s the same as 4 months of LiveJournal time).

Update: And no, I will not spam your Friends pages about plogs all the time. Just today, cause there’s a sale and you might want to know about it. :)

My teeth hurt!

Tuesday, April 29th, 2003

I had a dental cleaning today.

My teeth (well, mostly my gums) hurt like a sonofabitch now. And I’m…. gassy because I swallowed some of the flouride tooth polish (ick). I have a lot of 4 mm pockets and one 5 mm pocket, though I think that was a LIE because she jammed that stupid probe way in there, and of course my gums are inflamed after she’s been scraping at them and poking them (she really scratched me a few times!) Idiot. And then I kind of tried to make a little joke about how long it had taken me to build a habit of wearing my mouth guard, and perhaps I can work on one dental hygiene habit– either flossing or a second brushing– this year? She totally didn’t bargain at all, which was sad, because she probably could have actually convinced me to work on one of them. But changing two habits at once? I don’t think so.

After I got back, I knocked around a bit, then took an hour-long nap, which I clearly needed. Then I was up, hanging with Johnny, went to the store for groceries, and then dinner. And now, I’m hanging out here at home and Mr. Personality is on, which means I should go watch with Johnny. Because, yeah, I am lame like that, thanks.

The worst part is, tomorrow I have to go back to the dentist for a mouthguard adjustment. Urgh.

I did most of the dishes today. There’s another dishwasher load to go, and then some hand-washing to be done, but the counters were actually clear when we started cooking tonight!

Please vote for the theme you think I should use when making my new style. Of course, I reserve the right to completely ignore your advice.

I need a new style

I need to make a new custom style (perhaps using S2), and I’m taking suggestions:

The verdict….

Saturday, April 26th, 2003

The verdict seems to be that I will eat Pizza for lunch (leftovers from dinner), and maybe for dinner, too, and that I will watch Drumroll, do my nails, possibly streak or flash the neighbors again, soak in the tub, and then invite all my girlfriends over for geocaching.
;)
No, really– everything up to streaking the neighbors again is on. And maybe the tub soaking– I could really use the kind of hot bath or shower that makes your muscles ache from relaxing so fast.
