I am considering creating a plogs.net account, if only to support my friend , who started the site.
It’s a LiveJournal clone with a different business strategy.
It’s free to create an account that can only make comments.
It’s $5/3 months for a Full account (7 userpics, other features comparable to a LJ paid account).
It’s $24/year for a Professional account (15 userpics, other features comparable to a LJ paid/permanent account)
It’s $50 right now for a Charter Membership account (Professional account, never expires).
I don’t know if those are perfectly accurate or not, or if there’s a 3-month plan for a Professional account, or a full-year price break for the Full account options. See, their FAQ doesn’t say exactly how much it costs unless you’re a member and signed in, and the only information I can find is from a News article from .
As I said, though– it tempts me just to support Mark. Also: Charter Membership. I’d be like an Early Adopter! Whoo– if it goes anywhere….
I could also join and offer to volunteer. But then, I volunteer already for LiveJournal. Would it be hard to have those conflicting loyalties? Would they conflict at all?
*ponders*
If I sign up today, I’d have the same journaversary. March 18 could be, like, Mortaine’s Journal Day.
Oh, goody. Another day of random burning sensations in my left eye.
Why the fuck does this keep happening, anyway?
Today is LiveJournal’s birthday (4 years).
Today is also my first Journaversary. I created my journal exactly one year ago today.
I think that’s cool; my journal was created on the third birthday of the site!

All of the links on my custom style are broken because of the new URL formats. I am investigating, but don’t know when I’ll be able to fix it.
Things are Happening at work. In a surreal Office Space-like move, I’ve been assigned to a third manager. Unfortunately, this is the manager who has “gone through” three other technical writers, two of whom have left the company. Does anyone else think maybe it’s not the writers? Anyway, because I’m now a “shared resource,” my primary bosses have told him to “shove it” (not using those words) when it comes to doing the “TPS reports.” (They’re not called TPS reports, but we all know what they are…..)
It’s a very strange feeling to be a shared resource.
Hammer had 7 teeth pulled today at the vet. Yes, 7.
He is now on “quiet bed rest” for a couple of days. I have to monitor him carefully tonight and watch for excessive bleeding. He will probably always have to have his food softened from here on out.
Poor baby. Still majestic, but awwww.
