Life with a PTSD survivor:
“Honey, when you come up to hold me from behind like that, it makes me jumpy because I had a nightmare about being grabbed from behind.”
“Well, that’s not my fault.”
“Actually it is– I woke up and you were holding me close from behind.”
“So somehow that’s my fault?”
“I’m just saying, please don’t do that anymore today.”
Yes, this is a conversation we just had. I had a nightmare last night, and he’s been jumping up on me and grabbing me from behind in exactly the way the attacker in my dream did it.
Sigh. 11 years and it probably won’t get any better than this. Ah, well.
I got I1 in Comms (yay!), which is kind of cool, actually. Comms is one of the “no courtesy privs” categories, so this actually does change something in terms of what I can see and do on the board.
So, I have earned:
I1 in Comms
I1 in UPI
I2 in WebUI
Supporthelp in Gunk
My next goal, in addition to being the best darn Gunk priv I can be, is to get Supporthelp in WebUI and to take the UPI I2 test, in hopes of getting I2 in UPI.
Well, I have a ton of work to do today, including a lot on the rental. Plus, it’s almost 10 AM, and I still haven’t had breakfast! Guess that means I should go and get some sort of food before I get all googly.
Oh– before I forget! Last night’s dinner was homemade angelhair pasta. John made it from scratch. It was quite good, though honestly not much different from any other angelhair. I think it would have been better with a much lighter sauce– there was something wrong with the red sause we had last night; it didn’t go with the pasta or something. Also, he should try making different kinds of pasta with herbs mixed into it and stuff. I think thicker noodles might make a difference, or raviolis– at least then, you would be able to taste the pasta a bit more, and less of the sauce.
